Information we collect

We collect only what we need to send you flight deal alerts and run the service.

• Information you give us: your home airport and alert preferences, and your email address if you contact us or create an account.
• Device and app information: device type, operating system version, app version, language, and a push notification token so we can deliver alerts you turn on.
• Usage information: which screens and features you use, which deals you open, and basic diagnostics such as crash and performance data.
• Subscription information: if you buy a premium plan, Apple processes the payment. We receive confirmation of your subscription status but not your full payment card details.
• Website information: pages visited, referrer, approximate location (country or region) and browser type, collected through the analytics tools described in our Cookie Policy.

How we use information

We use the information we collect to:

• find and send you flight deals and error fare alerts from your home airport;
• provide, maintain and improve the app and website;
• manage premium subscriptions and your access to premium features;
• respond to your messages and support requests;
• measure how the app and website are used, and detect and prevent abuse or fraud;
• comply with legal obligations.

Push notifications

Deal alerts are sent as push notifications. You can turn them off at any time in your iPhone Settings under Notifications > TripDeals. If you turn them off, we cannot alert you to new deals.

Bookings and third-party sites

TripDeals does not sell tickets or process bookings. When you tap a deal, you are sent to an airline or travel provider to book. Their privacy policies apply once you leave our app or website, and we are not responsible for their practices.

Sharing your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in these cases:

• Service providers who help us run the service, such as analytics, hosting, error monitoring, and push notification delivery. They may only use it to provide services to us.
• Apple, which provides the App Store, subscriptions and push notification service.
• Legal and safety: when required by law, or to protect the rights, safety and security of our users, the public or TripDeals.
• Business transfers: if TripDeals is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

Data retention

We keep your information only as long as needed for the purposes above, for example while you have an active account or alerts, and as required to meet legal obligations. You can ask us to delete your data at any time (see "Your rights").

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. Residents of the EEA, UK and certain US states (such as California) have specific rights under local law.

To make a request, email us at hello@jointripdeals.com. We may need to verify your identity first. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

International transfers

Our service providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

Children's privacy

TripDeals is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version here and update the date at the top. If changes are significant, we will notify you in the app or by other appropriate means.
